NEW MANCHESTER OFFICE

Solaglass - New Manchester Office

Solaglas Contracting North has recently opened a new satellite office in Manchester, creating four new jobs.

Glass and glazing specialist Solaglas Contracting North is expanding with the opening of its first Manchester office, creating four new jobs.

The company, a division of Solaglas Contracting, specialises in glass facades for commercial developments including offices, hotels, schools and hospitals. Employing 50 people at its Bradford office, the company hopes the opening of a dedicated Manchester office will enable it to capitalise upon opportunities in the North West. It already has more than £5-million worth of contracts in the region.

John Lawrenson (pictured), Business Manager for Solaglas Contracting North, said: “Our specialist knowledge, capabilities and partnership approach are driving business growth. We have already been involved with several prestigious Manchester projects including Piccadilly Plaza and the Manchester Crowne Plaza Hotel and believe the new Manchester office and its highly experienced team will further expansion in this region.”

Solaglas Contracting North’s Manchester office will be headed up by John Uszylo. John has worked in the glass and glazing industry for more than 20 years and prior to taking up his new role was Senior Project Manager in the North West for Solaglas. He is to head up a team with extensive experience of curtain walling, structural glazing, fire resistant screens and specialist areas such as glass flooring and balustrading.

The business has also recently finished renovating both the factory and office space at the existing site in Bradford, improving the working environment for all employees. One of the highlights of the refurbishment is the addition of a new canteen area, which will be fitted with a computer for factory personnel.
