SOLAGLAS AT ECOBUILD

Saint-Gobain - the leading international construction materials company - is to have a major presence at Ecobuild 2009, with its UK manufacturing businesses exhibiting more than 70 innovative products under the core themes of energy efficiency, comfort and aesthetics, safety and security.

The Saint-Gobain stand will feature a refurbishment area, plus a ‘quiet room’ where visitors to the exhibition can escape for a few moments of peace and calm. This room is built from a range of innovative products from Saint-Gobain companies including APR 1200 acoustic wall insulation from Isover, Combison™ Uno Ds acoustic ceiling tiles from Ecophon, Gyproc SoundBloc plasterboard and GypWall QUIET acoustic wall separating system from British Gypsum and SGG STADIP SILENCE® laminated safety glass from Saint-Gobain Glass.

The refurbishment area will showcase a variety of products which can be used to improve the environmental performance of existing buildings including weber.pral M render from Weber, Isover’s Walltherm cavity wall insulation and Vario climate membrane system, SGG Diamant glass and SGG CLIMAPLUS COMFORT+ units from Solaglas. In addition, the stand will feature pods dedicated to energy efficiency, comfort and aesthetics, and safety and security. Each pod will feature the latest products in these key areas including the GripTop™ access cover from Saint-Gobain PAM, designed to significantly improve road safety for cyclists and motorcyclists.

Ecobuild’s extensive seminar programme will feature experts from Saint-Gobain companies including Isover’s Key Accounts Manager, David Burton, on ‘Insulation upgrade systems’ (4 March, 12.05 – 12.30) and Head of Innovation, Gerry Mitchell, who will present ‘Lessons from Europe’ as part of the ‘Insulate don’t generate’ seminar series (5 March, 15.05 – 15.25). Marketing Manager for Weber, Mark Weaver, will speak on ‘Hard to treat homes: insulating and revitalising solid wall properties,’ (4 March, 17.05 – 17.30) while Matthew Kershaw from Solaglas Sealed Units and Matthew Kirby from Solaglas will be conducting a seminar entitled ‘Glazing, a specifier’s guide’ (3 March, 15.20 – 15.45). John Harvey from Solaglas Contracting Specialist Façades is speaking on the Sustainable Refurbishment of Glass Façades (4 March, 14:10 to 14:35).
