Solaglas Contracting North has completed work on the new Nelson Interchange; a bus station located next to the existing railway station.
The £200,000 package consisted of single-glazed curtain walling and structural glazing to the façade, automatic swinging doors to the bus pod entrances and automatic sliding doors to the other entrances.
The project presented a challenge for the building is on a slope and the top glazing channels slope at a different pitch to the bottom glazing channels. Despite these complications, Solaglas Contracting North managed to supply and install rectangular panes, thereby minimising costs.
The state-of-the-art development will improve public transport for the region and the investment forms part of the wider regeneration of the town in which Contracting North has already played a major part having recently completed the glazing on the new Market Street shopping centre.
