Solaglas Contracting Midlands has just completed work on a luxury residential development for Clegg Construction Ltd in a regeneration area on the bank of the River Trent, Nottingham.

Contracting Midlands provided all the glazing in a package worth approximately £1.5m for the £50m development owned by Trent Park Developments. The complex houses 146 apartments and a private health and fitness club, all designed with ecological-living in mind. The building incorporates sound and thermal insulation, energy-efficient lighting and appliances, geothermal heat-pumps and wind turbines. The wind turbines will provide the power for the communal areas and the heat pumps will power the leisure complex.

Technal FXi windows, CD doors and MX curtain walling were used, and the double glazed units incorporated SGG PLANITHERM or SGG ANTELIO solar control glass with argon filling. As an additional perk Trent Park Developments are providing a fleet of electric Smart cars for residents to hire which will be powered by green energy.
