Glass installation specialist Solaglas Contracting North has created a sloped curtain wall facade for Audi’s new car showroom in Warrington. Appointed to handle the project by contractors Marcus Worthington & Co Ltd, the Solaglas team was recommended for the project by Fletcher Smith Architects, having worked with them previously on the Audi showroom in Blackburn.

Solaglas’ expertise was key to the creation of the angled facade which featured an unusual aesthetic design comprising large sized and heavy weight glazing units. Units were mechanically-installed by Solaglas.

The streamlined design was created using Technal’s Trame Horizontale curtain walling system. Double glazed units consisting of up to a 10mm toughened outer skin with an 8mm toughened low-e inner skin and a 10mm cavity were used to meet the environmental specification.
