The small works business in Contracting South has been busy. The team has recently completed its first job for retailer ‘Sunglass Hut’ by refurbishing its store in The Oracle shopping centre in Reading.

The project involved the installation of 10 foot high frameless glass doors and a 10.8 mm laminated glass shop front screen.  The glass screens have mitred corners and are silicone jointed, so appear frameless. Solaglas was appointed by Automate UK LTD, an independent automatic door company.

It has also completed an interior fit out project at ‘Arclite House’ – a Swindon based call centre.  The small works team installed 140 square metres of structural silicone glass screens along with eight sets of frameless glass doors.  All of the glazing had to be cut at the top to fit around the old channel beams of the building, so that the end result looks like a continuous sheet of glass.
