Toughening
The network has flat glass furnaces located across the mainland, offering a fast and efficient service and a broad product offering. Single toughened capabilities include all those listed below.
- Quality marked safety glass, toughened to BS EN 12600 and EN 12150
- High volume toughening of standard sizes and thicknesses.
- Geared up to toughen bespoke shapes e.g. for conservatory market.
- Glass thicknesses from 4mm.
- Up to 19mm at some sites and 25mm at Solaglas Hayes.
- Maximum sizes for toughening, within the Glass Processing and Distribution division, are 2050 x 4100mm.
- High performance (magnetron coated), neutral low-E glass, supplied filmed.
- Solar control glass, self-cleaning glass, dual coated glass, textured glass …
- Heat-soak testing facilities are available at some sites.
It is advisable to discuss any unusual requirements, such as very large sizes and very thick glass, with your usual Solaglas contacts.
The network has been investing in new furnaces, nationally, in order to ensure that product quality and production efficiency can both remain high.
